The focus of the Durward W. Owen College is to provide risk management and insurance education for professional staff, alumni, and volunteers for fraternities. The College faculty assist and advise all those involved in the fraternal community in delivering a consistent message to their members and in providing the leadership of each organization with the knowledge and tools to appropriately address risks. 

 

With a focus on educating fraternity professionals on best practices related to fraternal risk management and claims, the Durward W. Owen FRMT Risk Management College offers unparalleled fraternal professional education. The Risk Management College is named in honor of FRMT founder, Durward W. Owen.

The mission of the College is to:

• Educate new entry- and mid-level fraternity staff on updated risk management education and trends;
• Educate new senior-level fraternity staff on risk management education and claims from an inter/national organization leadership perspective; and,
• Inform returning mid- and senior-level fraternity staff on practices related to updated risk management education, trends, and claims.

Top leaders in fraternal education, litigation, and insurance make up the faculty who provide material that is practical in its application, informative, and engaging.

Location and Dates

The Durward W Owen College is June 14-16, 2027 at The Columbia Club, Indianapolis.  If you require hotel accommodations, that information is included in the registration.

Registration begins May 1st

• If your organization is an FRMT-member organization, your CEO will receive a link to register for next year’s College when that becomes available.
