A Focus on Reducing Dependence on Commercial Insurance

FRMT, Ltd. was formed in September 1996 in Hamilton, Bermuda, as a reinsurance company owned by 12 national college fraternities and began its first underwriting year on October 1, 1996. On October 1, 2007, the organization completed the domestication process and moved from Bermuda to Vermont, USA, and now includes 24 member fraternities. Growth in the organization is a testament to its focus on reducing its member fraternities' dependence on the commercial insurance market and enabling each member and the collective group to gain greater control over their future insurance needs and costs.

Since its founding, FRMT, Ltd has partnered with reliable, A.M. Best "A" Rated Insurance carriers to provide an alternative to the commercial liability insurance market. Continuity in FRMT's work relationships with "best-in-class" insurance companies, brokers, and service providers has been the key to the organization's success, as management, underwriting, and claims personnel have experienced very little change.

In addition to providing comprehensive insurance coverage, the FRMT organization offers risk management resources and education to enhance its members' undergraduate experience.
